Please note...
My computer (you know, the thing that was rumored to be fixed by now) is dead as a doorknob still. Just wanted to keep you in the loop. I'm looking into getting a Mac, because I am so over the cruddiness that is PC. Anyway, that should be this weekend. Yay! After I finish all the homework that is due this weekend (oh, who am I kidding? Probably instead of doing my homework...), I'll post some of the Throwback Reviews I've got brewing. I have 4 (count 'em FOUR) old school reads checked out and I'm halfway through the stack. To commemorate my new computer, I will post a Throwback Review everyday for a week. Every. Day. It's like your birthday, but better.

If you get a Mac, make sure you get the extended warranty -- it's under $200 and totally saved my butt when my hard drive failed last spring break!
Hi! Just started reading your blog earlier this week.
Allow me to second Siobhan's recommendation. . . . Even as a long-time Mac user (I like to think I'm pretty competent with Macs), I use AppleCare. Totally worth the $200.
If you have any questions about getting a Mac, feel free to contact me via my blog. If I can't answer your questions, I may know someone who can.
I got the Mac at Best Buy, since the financing options were better. So, instead of Apple Care I have the Best Buy warrantee for a year. Is it possible to get Apple Care when you didn't get it from an Apple Store? The Best Buy warrantee is refundable, so if I can get a better warrantee, that would be sweeet.
I think you have to get AppleCare from the Apple Store. Depending on where you are, there should be one nearby. The thing with AppleCare is that they also give you 24/7 tech service that's actually GOOD, as well as a decent warranty. You might call up an Apple store and see if you can still get it.
FYI: Next time you get a Mac, look for a refurbished one on the Apple web site. They're usually 20-30% less than the new models, with the same warranty. There might be a scratch on the cover, but they're essentially the same. Just FYI. :)
Live and learn, then get Luvs.
