Teen Tech Week: Facebook fanpage flyer

Teen Tech Week just so happened to land on my first full week at my new job. I'm torn between wanting to do something for TTW and trying to figure out how to place holds on books with a new system. Something that I've been able to do with spare moments at the refdesk with no problem was to create a facebook fanpage for my new library.

So in honor of Teen Tech Week I have a large format jpeg of the promotional flyer I made up for the fanpage (sans library name, of course!):

This is totally awesome! Love the layout and the graphics you used. Do you have a graphic design background or are you self-taught?

Oh yeah! May I link to this on 4YA?

Please do!

Thanks!! :) I'm mostly self-taught. We did cover design elements and using Fireworks in my multimedia class, but I was really over online lectures at that point and figured out how to complete my assignments by pushing random buttons and somehow getting them to do what I wanted. It seems to have worked haha

Well you certainly have a natural talent! I'm a closet graphic design nerd and really admire your facebook poster. You have totally captured the youthful look! One last thing is this poster available for other librarians to use?

You're too kind. :) I spend a sizable portion of my free internet time looking up graphics and elements and whatnot.

Oh yes! I should have mentioned that. It is most definitely free for use--that's why I left out the library name on this particular image.

P.s. Your blog layout is one of my top inspiration sites in terms of graphic design.

Thanks so much! I'm putting this up in my 'brary today!

Any chance you'll be coming out with a Twitter version? You are a great designer. I'm a closet design nerd like Andrea, but am not nearly this talented! Thanks again.

Wasn't planning on it, but I'll see what I can come up with!

Thank you so much!! :)

Nice and very attractive design, also the color blending is very eye catching. :-)
